MIDLAND Combination Division One leaders Barnt Green Spartak were the visitors on Saturday to Victoria Park for this WFA Junior Cup round one tie and they went away with the most comprehensive of victories.

MALVERN RANGERS 0, BARNT GREEN SPARTAK 6

Accepting that Rangers were without Sean Lynch and Martin Philpotts, the side bore no comparison to the display shown at Hinton the previous week.

Rob Perrins had an early chance, which he struck over the crossbar before the visitors took the lead after 14 minutes. Barnt Green broke away following a Rangers corner and a defence splitting pass gave the unopposed right back Adrian Knox the opportunity to score inside the far post.

Simon Rea shot straight at the keeper after 25 minutes before the visitors increased their advantage after 33 minutes. The ball was cleared following a free kick into the Barnt Green box and Delroy Brown was allowed to race half the length of the pitch evading numerous half hearted tackles before scoring inside the far post.

On 36 minutes the visiting keeper raced out of his area and was robbed by Rob Perrins who shot at goal but his effort was cleared.

Six minutes into the second half Karrol Hamber waltzed through the Rangers' defence before crossing to the back post for Simon Brown to tap home.

Four minutes later and it was 0-4. A Rangers' attack broke down, they tried to play offside but Delroy Brown raced on to score well. Midway through the half the nap hand was completed when substitute Akbar Ali turned and struck the ball in one movement in the box to score inside the post. The scoring was completed nine minutes before the end when again Rangers were found wanting and Shaid Akbar raced clear to score.

Joint men of the match were Mark Owen and Mark Taylor.
