STAFF at the Elgar Birthplace museum in Lower Broadheath have been practising looking like the moustached composer in readiness for a week-long charity bid.
A massive Elgar-thon is being held in schools across the country, from October 6-12, to raise money for the museum and for Sargent Cancer Care for Children.
Children of all ages will perform Land of Hope and Glory in an attempt to break the record for the largest number of young people performing the same piece of music in a single week.
In Malvern, pupils from Wyche Primary School, Dyson Perrins and Malvern College will be involved in the fun, wearing moustaches to mimic Elgar's famous facial hair.
Schools in the area registered online and were sent packs of moustaches early last month but it may still possible to register by going to www.coins4notes.com
Catherine Sloan, director of the Birthplace museum, said: "It's brilliant to think that children across the country are getting together and doing something Elgarian."
