DOCTORS, teachers and office workers will be giving up their day jobs for an evening for the glamour of the stage.

Twelve pupils of Worcester singer Luise Horrocks will be performing a varied mix of music at St Martin's Church, London Road, to raise money for Acorns Children's Hospice.

The church will be transformed into a 20s Speakeasy when the singers perform All That Jazz and other numbers from the hit musical Chicago.

On the more classical side, the programme includes pieces by Purcell and Schubert as well as arias from Mozart and Puccini.

Folk songs and jazz spirituals will round off the evening.

This will be the third fundraising concert organised by Ms Horrocks, and she hopes to beat the £600 raised at the last event.

"The showcases give the adult students a chance to perform and show their talents while raising money for a good cause," she said.

Sponsoring the event are Music 47 in Sidbury; Evesham and Pershore Housing Association and npower, which has agreed to match every pound raised up to £1,000.

The concert will be held tomorrow at St Martin's Church in London Road at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £5, £3.50 concessions, are available on the door.
