CHILDREN from Bewdley will show off their artistic flair in a series of exhibitions starting on Monday.

The displays, which are part of this year's Bewdley Festival, follow a locomotive theme and consist of paintings and friezes by youngsters from all of the town's schools.

Accompanying the four to 16-year-olds' work is the return of Cheshire art historian Adrian Sumner.

His lecture on "everything you wanted to ask about modern art - but were afraid to ask" will take place at Bewdley Baptist Church on Saturday, October 11 at 2.30pm.

And Bewdley Festival's visual arts director Cynthia Pearson said she was excited about the children's exhibitions, which will be up in Bewdley museum, library and HSBC and St Anne's Church until October 28.

"They have taken digital photos of the railway and then enhanced them on the computer and developed them."
