A WOMAN who walked into a bank and demanded money has been spared a custodial sentence.
Laura Wright, 24, went into Lloyds TSB in Stourport and passed the cashier a note, Worcester Crown Court heard.
It read: "I want you to give me the money in the till - now." The cashier refused, Wright became frustrated and left, said Leroy Henry, prosecuting.
Wright, who suffers from behavioural problems, acted strangely after her partner abandoned her in the town and she had no money for transport home.
Wright, of Howard Road, Wolverhampton, admitted attempted theft.
Judge Michael Mott described the offence as "a bizarre episode" by someone who was unstable at the time.
He sentenced Wright to a three-year community rehabilitation order.
