A BEWDLEY caf owner has been killed in a motorbike crash near the Welsh border.

Trevor Brennan died following the smash in Dyfed-Powys on Tuesday.

The owner of the Riverside Caf, on Severnside North in Bewdley, hit a tractor travelling in the opposite direction on the B4362 Walton to Presteigne road at about 3.30pm.

He was airlifted from the scene to Birmingham's Selly Oak Hospital but died at about 6pm.

Dyfed-Powys Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident - from which the driver of the tractor escaped unhurt - and an investigation has been launched.

Mr Brennan was a well-known figure in the town and had recently become embroiled in a debate about motorcyclists parking their machines along Severnside North, which is flagged with double yellow lines.

Bikers regularly visit the caf - where Severnside North meets Load Street - at weekends, igniting an issue which has infuriated some town councillors and residents.
