On Tuesday, September 9 the group celebrated its 40th anniversary. The group is really older than that but meetings did not take place for two years.
Members met at Far Forest Centre, many wearing clothes from the 1960s.
This being the "ruby" anniversary, Edna Mills had painted memento glasses red.
Sandra Pugh arranged a "guess whose photo" competition.
Founder members Dorothy Bray and Val Freeman were among the guests and Dizzy Moore gave a talk on her day at Buckingham Palace when she was presented with the OBE. She had prepared a few words to say to the Queen but, when Her Majesty addressed her, she had to improvise.
A celebration cake was cut by president Edna Mills, assisted by county chairman Suzanne Owen.
Many congratulatory cards had been received.
