NORTH Midlands will have to overturn a five points first leg deficit when they take on Warwickshire in the second leg of their Midlands U19 Championship decider at Droitwich on October 15.

Warwickshire edged a 12-7 win in the first leg at Broadstreet yesterday which raised their hopes of lifting the Sable's Head trophy for the first time.

North Midlands, who fielded an experimental side which included nine Birmingham University freshers, coped well with a bigger and more experienced Warwickshire side but turned over possession at critical stages of the game.

Warwickshire opened up a 12-0 lead with two tries, but North Midlands hit back with a try from Birmingham University flanker Gavin Kamara and a conversion from Daniel Pons of Moseley.
