WE would like to say a huge thank-you to everyone who helped when our house cat Fudge went missing.
She got out on the night of Wednesday, September 25.
She had never been outside before and we knew she had no road sense. But my faith was restored in human kindness at the response we had.
My 15-year-old son Scott rallied his friends and they went out on Thursday after school, putting up posters everywhere and searching.
Our neighbours were also great. They helped in the search and Heather from the Cat Action Trust loaned us a trap for catching feral cats.
We baited it with food and waited. We rang all the vets and animal rescue people and Wilsons Pets shop. They all put up posters and were most helpful.
We called at most houses along Chester Road South and surrounding area asking for people to check sheds and garages. No-one refused.
My husband checked the trap on Sunday night at 12.20am. He said he saw green eyes and thought it may have caught a fox.
But it was Fudge, a bit dirty, with bleeding front paws and ravenous but very pleased to see us.
Our grateful thanks to everyone.
