PENALTY shoot-out heartache hit Chaddesley Corbett who suffered a shock Worcestershire Junior Cup defeat at Hallow.

They drew 1-1 at the Worcester League club after extra-time but were then beaten 5-4 on spot-kicks.

Boss Martin Westcott said: "I was disappointed with our first-half performance.

"However, we changed it around at half-time and played them off the park in the second half and extra-time.

"But if you don't put your chances away, you get nothing in football."

Chaddesley nearly went behind to a long-range shot and Hallow grabbed a deserved lead through a counter-attack on 20 minutes.

Gavin Knight, man-of-the-match Steve Lowe and Brian Burton all began to look impressive at the back, while Ian Vogel broke up play in front of them.

Chaddesley, twice finalists in the competition in recent years, responded with three in attack for the second half and created chance after chance.

Richard Burton, Craig Pratt and Chris Bow were all guilty of poor finishing when well placed.

But the impressive Lee Williams was brought down just outside the box on 65 minutes and sub Matt Baynton dispatched the free-kick into the net.

Bow had a header controversially disallowed for a push in extra-time and an effort from the home side was ruled out for offside.

Knight, Baynton and Bow converted but Neil Lucas blasted his kick wide and despite R Burton scoring, keeper Mark Batten was unable to save the last one.

The players are asked to meet at Brintons at 1.30pm for Saturday's cup match with All Blacks and at Ludlow's ground at 7pm on Wednesday.
