SWIMMING: Competition best times were recorded at the Wyre Forest Swimming Club championship by Aimee Cook, Amy Smith, Jonathon Baylie and Nick Carmichael.

The event was the beginning of the main distance swims for older competitors, plus sprints for the younger members.

Cook achieved her success in the 11 years 200 metres individual medley and 100m freestyle.

Smith was fastest in the 15-16 200m individual medley and 100m freestyle, Baylie in the 13-14 200m backstroke and Carmichael in the 15-16 100m breaststroke.

Meanwhile, four club members swam in the Perry Beeches Triple S Open at Wolverhampton with P Ingenthron winning both the 12 years 100m backstroke and 100m individual medley.

He was also fourth in the 100m freestyle and sixth in the 100m breaststroke.
