HOCKEY: Stourport Ladies seconds finished their build-up to the Worcestershire League programme with a 5-1 victory over Cannock thirds in a Saturday friendly.

Cannock took an early lead when a Stourport foot gave away a penalty but the lead was short-lived as young Emily McCoy scored her first club goal on 10 minutes.

There was no further first half score although Cannock tried to create confusion in midfield.

Charlotte Manley saved well from a short corner before Stourport enjoyed a rampant 10 minutes after failing to convert a penalty flick.

Karen McIntyre, dominant in midfield, fired two goals and sent a pass to Teri Baron who put the match out of Cannock's reach.

A short corner on the stroke of full-time led to another before McIntyre and Julia Hopkins combined, giving Rosie Connolly the chance to strike home the fifth goal.
