UNSCRUPULOUS car traders who are putting lives at risk with their illegal roadside deals have been warned away from one of Herefordshire's busiest junctions.
Police have received complaints from members of the public and legitimate salesmen about cars being parked by Belmont roundabout, where the A465 meets the A49, with "for sale" signs in their windows.
"This practice is clearly dangerous, causing road users to be distracted from driving their own vehicles and in turn drastically increasing the risk of collision," said Sgt Jim McLaughlin.
"The practice is also illegal, contravening a number of local bylaws. However, my principle concern is the safety of road users.
"We are taking enforcement action against those continuing to do trade in motor vehicles on the site. By all means sell your vehicles, but do it legally."
