A McDONALD'S raffle was a roaring success with more than £2,000 raised for charity.
Worcester City striker Mark Owen made the prize draw at the Hylton Road branch of the fast food chain.
Jags Manhota, McDonald's area manager, donated a mini hi-fi, digital camera, CD player and a DVD player from his own money for the event.
A total of £2,173 was raised for the Ronald McDonald Children's Charity (RMCC), which will be divided between 13 McDonald's branches for their chosen charities.
The money from the Hylton Road branch of the chain will be going to Manor Park Special School in Turnpike Close, St John's.
"Customer services manager Edna Freeman sold more than 1,000 tickets," said Mr Manhota.
"There were lots of McDonald's restaurants involved in selling the tickets, including Newport, Stroud and the three Worcester branches.
"Mark Owen was very obliging. He took time off before playing in the FA Cup.
"We raised more money than we had anticipated."
Mr Manhota is also set to cycle from Prince Albert to Knysna in South Africa, in just over a week ,to drum up funds for RMCC.
He has, so far, raised around £700 in sponsorship.
