A WORCESTER man has been charged with abduction, sex with a minor and helping a teenage girl to attempt suicide.
Andrew Taylor, from Fleet Row, in St Peter's, will now stand trial at Worcester Crown Court.
The 37-year-old appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court yesterday accused of having unlawful sex with a 14-year-old girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons. He was also charged with aiding, abetting, counselling or procuring the suicide of this young girl. The teenager, who comes from Worcester, survived, according to a spokesman for Worcester Police.
The third charge Taylor faces is taking the girl without lawful authority or reasonable excuse and removing her from the control of her parents or guardians.
At yesterday's brief court appearance magistrates refused bail and Taylor was remanded into custody. He will next appear before Worcester Crown Court on Thursday, October 9.
