A MOTHER and her six-week-old baby were trapped in their flat after arsonists set light to a settee outside their front door.
Twenty-four year old Kelly Norrey, of Gamekeepers Drive, Brickfields, Worcester was alerted to the smoke seeping into her second-floor flat, at about 3.36am this morning after her six-week-old son Shay began to cry.
She went to investigate, but the flames from the burning sofa outside her front door prevented her from escaping.
The settee had been left in the lobby area by another resident of the flats some weeks before.
Miss Norrey alerted firefighters to the blaze from her mobile phone and two crews from Worcester rushed to the property while senior fire officer Judy Young kept Kelly talking on the
