Forty-six crippled children from the outpatients department of the Birmingham Orthopaedic Hospital were taken to Astwood Bank for an outing on the day of Redditch Carnival by members of the Birmingham 1914-1918 and Overseas Club, were given tea, entertainment and small gifts by members of Astwood Bank British Legion and helpers.
The children were welcomed by Dr Peter Dawes.
