ST Matthew's Church in Salford Priors had three new Readers licensed at Coventry Cathedral on September 20.
After two years training in biblical, theological and ethical studies, Dorothy Ayling, Mick Cocker and Anne Potter will now work alongside the present ministry team in St Matthew's and the Five Alive group of churches.
The office of Reader began several hundreds of years ago to give ministry in poorer parishes where there was not a vicar.
Now the role is varied, assisting the clergy in a variety of tasks particularly in leading worship and preaching.
Dorothy Ayling, lives in Badsey and works for Worcestershire County Council while Mick Cocker, of Salford Priors, works for a clothing company and Anne Potter, also of Salford Priors, helps with a family engineering business.
Present clergy at St Matthew's, Steve Tash and Lynne Davies, said they were delighted to see the ministry team expanding.
