AT the September meeting, members met up again after the summer break and president Helen Powell welcomed friends from Arrow WI.
Arrangements were finalised for the group meeting, hosted by Broom WI to take place in Salford Priors Village Hall as Broom Village Hall is too small to hold such a large event.
Guest speaker was Alcester town crier Keith Tomlinson, who came dressed in traditional costume together with a three-cornered hat and carrying a scroll.
He attends functions all year round and recently attended a competition in Norway where he met other town criers.
Keith answered questions and said the tradition goes back as far as Roman times, starting as knocker-uppers in the early morning.
He finishes in October to become High Bailiff of Alcester.
