THANK you to Councillor Jim Uphill for the update on Sainsbury's roundabout (Letters, September 17).
However, before we park things at the Government's door, let's ask some basic questions:
- Do councils instigate to carry out all Government guidelines?
- Please can the county council point to those guidelines that created this mess?
- Do councillors accept blindly all the statements from their officers?
- How many years of the partnership being in existence has it finally dawned on someone that a joint discussion takes place before such work begins?
- Which begs the final question, why have you not thought to have these discussions before?
