Jeff Buckley was a singer/songwriter of unparalleled talent in the mid-nineties yet strangely he never seemed to gain the full recognition he deserved.

Now six years after his death a growing audience is learning what they missed and pondering what might have been.

This sumptuous 2-CD package captures a solo Buckley performing in 1993 in the intimate surroundings of his favourite New York club with nothing but a Fender Telecaster, his exquisite voice and a huge repertoire of self-penned tunes and covers.

He had just signed to Columbia records and some of the songs here - like passionate renditions of Mojo Pin, Eternal Life and Last Goodbye - would later be recorded with his band for his debut album Grace.

The recordings are an absolute goldmine with every nuance of Buckley's heartfelt performance bathed in soul and feeling.

The songs were part of him as were the covers (Dylan, Van Morrison, Zeppelin, Nina Simone etc) which he made entirely his own.

The deep humanity, warmth and humour of the man are also captured as he interacts with the small but appreciative audience like old friends.

It's heart warming stuff, but upsetting to realise at the same time that this supreme talent has gone forever.
