A DESIGNER 'do' by a Bromsgrove hairdresser, a mouth-watering meal for two and sensational smellies are just some of the prizes on offer at an autumn fair this weekend.

St John's Middle School is hosting its seasonal fair this Saturday and visitors are guaranteed a good time with a host of exciting activities.

All cash made will go to the St John's Landmark Appeal, which aims to raise £1 million to repair the crumbling fabric of the town's parish church.

A giant Scalextric track will be set up in the school's library to keep fun-seekers busy, while shopoholics can find bargains galore on the home produce, craft and cake stalls.

Youngsters can jump for joy on the bouncy castle and a sizzling barbecue will look after those hungry tummies.

Bromsgrove's MP Julie Kirkbride will open the Watt Close fundraiser at 10am and the fun will not stop until 4pm, when the winners of the grand prize draw will be announced.

Town shopkeepers and businesses have generously donated many of the prizes for the draw, with tickets on sale throughout the day. Prizes include a haircut at Alberto Policarpo, a tour of BBC Pebble Mill, a meal at the Perry Hall Ramada Jarvis Hotel and goodies from Boots, Cupitts and Webbs of Wychbold.

Appeal spokeswoman Jo Slade said: "Everyone is welcome to come down to the school, support the St John's Landmark Appeal and enjoy a fun-packed day."
