TAE Kwon Do, Trampolining and table tennis are just some of the energetic activities on offer at a Ryland Centre open day later this month.

Energetic youngsters, aged between 13 and 19, are invited to the New Road centre to try out a range of sporting pursuits on October 18.

Councillor June Griffiths, cabinet member responsible for leisure said: "We want as many youngsters as possible to take the opportunity to try out a variety of different sports and other activities.

"Youngsters should be encouraged to keep active to help them adopt a fit and healthy lifestyle and we are delighted to be able to offer this special day. Just turn up. We always want to promote sporting activities."

Street dance, boxercise, basketball, badminton, kwik cricket and girls and boys football will be among the sports on offer.

The event runs from 10am until 4pm and is organised by Bromsgrove District Council's sports development team and Worcestershire County Council youth service.

A band night, featuring four of the best town groups, will take place at the Ryland Centre the same evening between 7.30 and 10.30pm.

Evening admission is £3 and can be paid on the door. For further details call Anne Heath on 01527 875207.
