YOUNGSTERS from a Bromsgrove school have embarked on a ten-week rugby taster course.
Twenty-seven pupils from St Peter's First School, in Rock Hill, will spend an hour each Thursday being put through their paces in the safe environment of tag rugby by Bromsgrove Sports Development.
Sessions show the seven and eight-year-olds the basics of tag rugby, in which competitors have to pass the ball when tagged by an opponent.
PE co-ordinator Pauline Mogg said it brought the sport down to the right level and the children were thoroughly enjoying themselves.
Children aged nine at the school also tested their football skills when Kidderminster Harriers Community Scheme visited 24 hours later.
