EVESHAM United will travel down the M5 on Saturday intent on salvaging respect from a couple of previous embarrassing results.

The Robins visit Gloucester City in the FA Trophy and they will be keen to make progress on at least one knockout front after crashing out of the FA Cup to lowly Hallen.

Meadow Park won't hold happy memories for Mullen's men who were on the wrong end of a 6-1 league thrashing earlier this year but, after last weekend's win over Solihull Borough, confidence is high in the Common Road camp.

However, last Saturday's match winner Sean Flynn is forced to sit out the clash - and replay if required - and it's a distinct possibility that the former Tranmere, West Brom and Kidderminster man could have played his one and only game for Evesham.

"Sean just came in to help us out at the last minute," manager Phil Mullen revealed. "Nothing has been discussed about a permanent move, we will just have to wait and see what happens."

Flynn only signed just hours before the game which makes him ineligible this weekend, while Mullen was handed another selection headache when Tim Clarke phoned in sick.

"He had picked up a virus and wasn't feeling too good when he called me at 11.45," Mullen recalled. "I immediately phoned Damien (Beattie) who was coming to the ground anyway to collect his money and asked if he could get here a bit earlier.

"As it happened he wasn't able to get here in time and I had to go with Tim."

Free from suspension, Craig Ball is a likely replacement for Flynn, while last weekend's other debutant Danny Allen has been given clearance by Forest Green to play at Gloucester.

Nathan Jukes, who was on the bench last Saturday is doubtful with a worrying injury, while Simon Marsh is expected to be out for at least another fortnight.

"We were talking about the strength of the bench last Saturday and sometimes that's a good guide as to the strength of the starting 11," Mullen said.

"It was quite a nice feeling for a change once Flynny had signed on and I was confident about the outcome until Tim's late call. Luckily he had a quiet afternoon and we picked up what I thought were three deserved points."
