KIDDERMINSTER Harriers' manager Ian Britton is coming under increasing pressure after his struggling side slid into the Nationwide League Division Three relegation zone last night.

They are now second from bottom in the table after suffering a 1-0 defeat against Huddersfield Town at the McAlpine Stadium.

The setback leaves them without a victory in their last nine outings.

Britton, under heavy fire from concerned supporters, now faces a crunch period with home matches against two other struggling sides.

On Saturday basement club Carlisle United, who are three points adrift of Harriers, are the visitors to Aggborough and seven days later fourth-from-bottom Southend United will provide the opposition.

Britton says he understands supporters' frustration at the current plight 'but believe me nobody is more disappointed than me'.

Harriers chairman Colin Youngjohns has already urged worried fans not to panic.

He said: "The number one priority for me is, has been and always will be, the survival of Kidderminster Harriers Football Club."

Britton revealed before last night's trip to Huddersfield that he would have to make unpopular selection decisions in a bid to get Kidderminster's season back on track, having won their first two matches.

One of the casualties was long serving defender Craig Hinton who was relegated to the substitutes' bench last night.
