DROITWICH Spa cricketer Mike Rogers (pictured) is preparing to test his skills with a trip of a lifetime Down Under.
Rogers, aged 22, jets off for Adelaide this week after securing himself a place with local side Golden Grove for six months.
Rogers, of Himbleton, becomes the second Spa star to migrate south for the winter, following in the footsteps of Jerome Connor, who has helped Mike put this trip together.
And his team mates threw a surprise party for him at the weekend to give him a jubilant send off.
Mike said: "It's something I have always wanted to do. I have just finished university and thought it was the ideal time to do it. It's absolutely brilliant, Australia is the place to play cricket.
"I need to have a think about my future plans so it gives me time to think."
Mike, who now has a degree in criminology, was part of the Spa side that finished fourth in this season's Worcestershire County League division one.
He also took 51 wickets, including an unprecedented four in four balls in a Sunday fixture in July.
