Headless Cross made it four wins out of four with their 6-2 defeat of Coventry City Reserves - a win that keeps them top of the West Midlands Division One South table.

Cross took the game to Coventry from the start taking the lead after five minutes when Sarah Day exchanged passes with Jade Craddock before scoring at the far post.

Day had a hand in the second on 20 minutes, beating the Coventry keeper to a Lisa Parrounuzzi through ball allowing Melanie Potter to prod home.

Coventry reduced the arrears only for Day to make it 3-1 at the break following a well-worked free-kick.

Parrounuzzi made it 4-1 early in the second half, starting and finishing a move before Denise Markham bagged the goal of the match, volleying home from 20 yards following good work by Day and Teresa Boddington.

Coventry netted another consolation before a Markham corner found Boddington unmarked at the far post to complete the scoring.

Headless Cross travel to Fairfield Villa on Sunday hopeful of maintaining their 100 per cent record.

Redditch United squandered a 2-0 lead on their way to a 5-3 defeat at Leamington Lions.

Reds had the majority of play in the first half and Natalie Raggio-Taylor had an effort cleared off the line.

After 35 minutes the pressure finally paid off when Lisa Hodges cut the ball back for Sam Tayler to score her first goal of the season.

The second half was just seconds old when player of the match Natalie Leroux chased a lost cause, retrieved the ball back from the goal line and then squeezed a shot home off the legs of a Leamington defender.

Redditch then went to sleep, allowing Leamington to score two quick goals before Tessa Whittingham fired home a 20-yard volley to restore the visitors' lead on 70 minutes.

But poor defending cost Redditch as they ran in three late goals to claim all three points.
