Review - The Treorchy Male Voice Choir at the Forum Theatre, Malvern
FRIDAY night was indeed music night for a one-off performance that peaked to the perfection only the men from the Rhondda can provide.
Interspersing their traditional repertoire, including several hymns, the inspirational Cwm Rhondda, and All Through the Night, they also took us on a trip to the musicals with the works of Andrew Lloyd Webber, and the cinema with the big hit from the film Titanic.
The men from Treorchy are renowned as one of the greatest success stories in the cultural history of Wales, and they enhanced this impressive reputation with the stylish and cool manner in which they shrugged off a late arrival, due to traffic, and transfixed their audience with all they did.
Soprano Susan Black, their special guest, provided the lone female voice and added to the enjoyment of the occasion with several favourites impeccably delivered. AW
