THERE was plenty of animal magic when a charity shop re-opened its doors to the public.

The RSPCA shop in St John's, Worcester, had been closed for a month while staff searched for a manager to run it.

But now, new manager Lisa Bonomini has taken over the running of the St John's shop, sales are in full swing.

"All the money raised in the shop goes to support the Worcestershire branch of the RSPCA," said Miss Bonomini.

"It doesn't get any money from head office so relies on the money we make in the shop, which was why it was quite difficult for the branch when the shop was closed for a month."

The shop officially re-opened on Saturday and to help celebrate the occasion, Stephen Baxendale dressed as a fox and donned a fake fur costume to lure customers through the door.

"We're open six days a week and I'm currently looking for volunteers to work in the shop for a morning or afternoon shift," said Miss Bonomini.

"We sell all sorts of things from books and bric-a-brac to clothes - there's something for everyone," she said.

If you would like to help out in the shop as a volunteer, call Lisa Bonomini on 01905 423094.
