PLANS to boost Evesham High Street will take another step forward with a walk down the road to look at potential improvements.

A series of "walking audits" are being held for town residents to give their views on what should be done on the street.

Three drop-in events and a public seminar led by a street design expert have already been held before design proposals are unveiled in January.

"We're really pleased with the interest shown in the High Street project and have already received a vast range of comments from our previous events," said Wychavon District Council planner Denise Duggan.

Chance

"But the walking audits are a chance for people to go out and analyse the street in detail.

''We've invited a number of local groups and people who have expressed an interest. Their views are vital to the success of any design exercise but we are concerned that the views of some sectors of Evesham's population are not being represented.

"We would be particularly interested to hear from young people and disabled people - they'll all be welcome."

The trips will leave from outside the Town Hall at 3pm and 6.30pm on Monday, October 6, and 11.30am and 3pm on Friday, October 10.
