A MAN who suffered a chest injury in a minor car accident was found dead at his home two days later, an inquest heard.
Anthony Kramer, aged 55, of Woodcote Farm, Dodford, near Bromsgrove, attended the minor injuries unit at Kidderminster General Hospital on Monday, September 22, after being involved in a minor car accident in Swindon, Wiltshire, that morning.
Worcester coroner Victor Round told an inquest yesterday that doctors told Mr Kramer, whose car had only sustained minor damage, that he had a slight tissue injury to the left of his chest.
"They told him to go home but to come back if he felt ill or short of breath," he said.
Mr Round said the next day Mr Kramer told the people at the house where he was lodging in Dodford that he had "some pain" in his legs and he went to bed.
But at 10am the following morning he was found dead by Stephen Pritchard, who was also living at Woodcote Farm.
The cause of death was given as a tear in the aorta, which is the main artery to the heart.
Mr Round adjourned the inquest for a date to be fixed to await the traffic reports of the collision from the police.
