PLANS to build a triple garage with accommodation above it at a home in Wichenford, near Worcester, could be refused on the grounds it would have an adverse impact on the area.
The scheme involves the demolition of a double garage at Mallenders, on the south side of Venn Lane, in Wichenford, to be replaced by a triple garage, measuring 20ft by 31ft by 20ft high.
The plans also involve the extension of the garden into agricultural land by about 20ft from the existing residential boundary.
Concerns
Wichenford parish council has objected to the scheme as it feels the development is "inappropriately large" for the size of the house and that it does not fit in with the surrounding area.
Malvern District Council planning officers have also raised concerns over the size of the garage having a detrimental impact on the character of the rural landscape and are recommending the application be refused.
The application will be considered at a meeting of the district council's northern area planning committee tomorrow, at 6pm.
