YOUNG gardeners in Droitwich are being urged to show off the fruits of their labour at a special competition to be held for Hallowe'en.
Webbs of Wychbold garden centre gave out 300 pumpkin seeds to children earlier this year in an effort to encourage them to grow some of their own food.
The centre is now encouraging the youngsters to bring back their fully-grown pumpkins for a contest on Saturday, October 25.
"The competition is in conjunction with Sutton Seeds and is part of a nationwide contest," said Webbs of Wychbold director Marigold Webb.
"The winner of our event with the largest pumpkin will receive £25 worth of Sutton Seeds, and will then go on to the national final with the chance to win a family ticket to Alton Towers.
"And to encourage kids to enter, we have some enormous pumpkins on show."
