BROMSGROVE-based construction group Weaver Plc has announced contracts totalling £3.25m in the first quarter of its financial year for its retail, leisure and refurbishment division.
Projects include a £400,000 refurbishment contract for Calthorpe Estates, in Birmingham, three fit-out contracts for Wilkinson stories, in Liverpool, Accrington, Lancashire, and Northfield, Birmingham, and a £400,000 refurbishment of Sandwell Hospital's X-ray department, Sandwell, West Midlands.
Alan Adamson, joint managing director at Weaver Plc, said orders had come through repeat business, new invitations and confirmed orders.
"Interestingly, recent industry figures showed that a major portion of national growth was driven by activity around the regions, rather than in the South East.
"Our experience is that confidence has certainly returned to the marketplace and projects are moving well through the planning and procurement process."
