WERNER Swanepoel was carried from the Sixways pitch with a knee injury after Worcester's 34-0 win over London Welsh on Saturday.

The injury initially looked to be a bad one, but the Warriors' skipper was yesterday hoping that the problem would not keep him out for too long.

"I'm hoping it's not too serious," he said. "Certainly nothing's broken or anything like that. The doctors checked over the major ligaments in there and they couldn't find anything really bad so I'm keeping my fingers crossed."

Swanepoel will have a scan on the knee today but the South African admitted, the injury was doubly frustrating after struggling all season with an Achilles problem.

"I'm just wondering what I've done to have all this bad luck," he added.
