DISTRICT Tories got a glimpse of how things are done European style when they travelled to Strasbourg.

West Midlands Conservative MEP Philip Bradbourn hosted the visit from 32 Wyre Forest members, led by Stephen Clee, who were "amazed" at how the European Parliament works.

They watched Philip Bushill-Matthews, another Conservative West Midlands MEP, in action during a debate in the council chamber.

Mr Clee said: "Many people think that the European Parliament is a vast empire with millions of staff. I was surprised with the constituency work that goes on 700 miles away from the UK.

"There is no doubt that we have an excellent team representing us."
