WINGER Rob Myler is set to use the frustration of missing Worcester's biggest game of the season as a spur to helping the side stay in the promotion race.

The 29-year-old former rugby league star is set for a return to first team action at Waterloo on Saturday (2.15) after a three-week absence with a knee injury.

He missed just two games but the first of those was the crucial 12-6 defeat at home to Leeds which knocked the Gold 'n' Blues off the top of Premiership Two.

Myler twisted his knee in the London Irish cup clash but has now recovered and could force his way into the side for the trip to Blundellsands.

"I was in the doldrums a bit after London Irish, particularly as we thought that the injury was more serious than it turned out to be," he said.

"Then, on the Saturday against Leeds, it was more frustrating to watch. I'm not a very good spectator at the best of times -- I want to be on the pitch helping the team.

"Before the injury I was enjoying myself and things were coming along quite nicely, so it was a set-back not to play against Leeds.

"It's made me more determined to finish the season on a high and be part of the team for the remainder of the games."

Myler has started five league games this season and come on as a replacement in another six. But in spite of his lack of starts, the former Warrington centre is still among the top scorers with five tries.

Not that Worcester's first ever rugby league convert is too worried about statistics.

"It's always good to score tries but I've never been one for setting goals," he added.

"If the team win and I play well within the team that's the main aim. I just hope somebody scores."

Waterloo are third from bottom in Premiership Two with just four wins from 15 games.
