BROMSGROVE Rovers returned to winning ways last night (Tuesday) with three second half goals in a 4-1 victory over Gresley Rovers.

Rovers, beaten in their last two Dr Martens Western games, took the lead on 14 minutes when Richard Burgess collected a perfect pass from Fraser McHugh and beat James Lindley with a low shot from the edge of the area.

But the visitors, who lost 5-0 at the Victoria Ground in September, started to dominate midfield with Neil Kitching firing wide on 24 minutes and heading wide just 90 seconds later.

The Moatmen equalised nine minutes before the break when Michael Crawford hit a weak, speculative shot from 30 yards, which Matt Lowe misjudged.

Rovers went 2-1 up two minutes into the second half when Burgess scored his second with a perfect header from Paul Lloyd's right wing cross.

The hosts extended their lead 90 seconds later, James Dyson coverting a penalty after Steve Frost was fouled.

On 72 minutes Rovers went 4-1 clear when McHugh fired into the top corner.
