DEAR EDITOR- Banking on a change of heart - last week I needed to pop to Lloyds TSB in Bromsgrove.

With a baby of just four months old I hoped I'd be able to park in the Lloyds TSB customer car park to make my quick transaction.

However, I ended up waiting in the entrance to the car park, for almost 20 minutes before someone moved their car and created a parking space.

Readers might think I should have just gone to the Windsor Street car park but this would have meant I couldn't just lift my baby out of the car to pop to the bank. Instead I would have had to get him out in the car seat, erect the pushchair and take him in that. This would have been far more hassle than warranted for a brief trip to the bank.

Furthermore, although 50p is not a great fee for car parking, it all adds up when you are on a reduced income while on maternity leave.

When I eventually parked at Lloyds and popped into the bank there were only a couple of other customers in there. Clearly many people are parking there when they are not actually visiting the bank.

I do wish these people - most of whom could easily park at Windsor Street - would give a moments thought to mothers with children and the less mobile, who value being able to park at the bank when they need to.
