REDDITCH United have been handed an inviting draw in the Second Qualifying Round of the FA Cup after their 2-1 win at Eastwood Town at the weekend.

A Peter Sutton equaliser and an own goal from Town striker Mark Smith on Saturday earned the Reds a home draw against Leek Town.

The Staffordshire outfit ply their trade in Division One of the Unibond Northern Premier League, the same division as Eastwood Town.

With a home draw, United will have a strong chance of banking another £7,500 to add to the £8,500 they have already pocketed from wins against Grosvenor Park and Eastwood.

Leek lie in mid-table after an undistinguished start of three wins and three defeats.

United could have been drawn against a lower division side like Nantwich but manager Rod Brown will be happy to have avoided an away draw which could have pitted his charges against a Dr Martens Premier Division side.

The tie will be played at the Valley a week on Saturday and chairman Neil Pagett will be hoping for a big turnout as the side bid to advance further than last season when they exited to Kettering after a replay at the same stage.

The Cup match against Leek means the planned league trip to Weston will have to be rearranged to a date to be fixed.

United boss Brown has a week to get his players back down to earth after the weekend win in time to face two of the league's top six sides.

Redditch visit sixth placed Atherstone United on Saturday (ko 3pm) before entertaining fifth placed Gresley Rovers on Tuesday (ko 7.30pm).

Rovers will be still smarting after their FA Cup adventure was brought to a crashing halt by a 5-0 hammering from Bromsgrove Rovers at the weekend.
