WORCESTER City manager John Barton says his side still has work to do before they can be safe from relegation.

Saturday's 5-2 home defeat against Crawley Town leaves City eight points clear of the drop zone with five games left.

With Grantham Town, who currently occupy the final relegation place, having won six of their last seven games, City need to get back on the winning trail to avoid getting dragged back into trouble.

Barton said: "Other people seem to have taken it on themselves to consider us safe, but I have never considered it.

"We still want to finish the season as well as we can.

"There are five games to go and 15 points to play for, but we won't get many if we make mistakes like we did on Saturday.

"There is still work to be done and I have been saying that for the last few games. The job has to be seen off."

Winger Keith Knight could miss next Saturday's trip to fourth-placed Margate after suffering an Achilles tendon injury on Saturday.

Striker Mark Owen and midfielder Nathan Jukes both have an outside chance of recovering from hamstring injuries.
