WORCESTER Warriors lost 44-5 to a strong Harlequins outfit last night at Sixways.

The Worcester side, featuring a number of youngsters and trialists, found it difficult to cope with the power and pace of the Premiership team.

Steve Vile scored Worcester's only points late on in the second half, but the game was viewed positively by head coach John Brain.

"It was a very useful exercise," he said. "They brought a very experienced side and it was good for some of the younger players to play against that. We had a number of trialists and sometimes that can leave you a little disjointed.

"However, they stuck to their task all night."

Brain ran the rule over hooker Bernard Jackman from Sale Sharks and Johann Brink, a South African lock who has been training with the first-team squad for two weeks.

And the former Gloucester man insisted that he will keep on looking at trialists in the remaining Warriors matches with Gloucester and the Royal Navy.
