THE boys were on cloud nine on Sunday after a wonderful weekend for Worcester.

The key now is to make sure everyone has their feet on the ground. It was only right to be pleased at the two results over the weekend.

Rotherham lost to Exeter and we beat Moseley. But that is the past. Nothing can be done about that now and we have a vital game against Wakefield in front of us. I've said it before this season but it's of absolute importance that we focus completely on that match. We train 100 per cent, we give 100 per cent and nothing else is acceptable.

Everyone is aware that there is one game to go until Rotherham travel to Sixways. But what good is it to think about that game, or the weekend, if we then go and mess up at College Grove? The answer is none.

We are in a professional environment at Worcester and it would be unacceptable for us to take our eye off the ball now. We've been given a second chance now with Rotherham's defeat and we must work much harder to make sure this opportunity is not passed up.

The squad remember what happened at Orrell very well. We were all miserable after losing out in the last minute. I would say to the players - remember that feeling well because you don't want to have it again this season!

We go into the match as leaders once again but that means nothing at this stage of the season. Rotherham will have played their game in hand when they arrive at Worcester so that is just a distraction more than anything. What I am interested in on Saturday is performance.

There are no excuses any more. We have four games to go and I want to see everyone pull together and work their socks off for one another. The only way we are going to move forward and win promotion this season is to make the tackles, run our hearts out and all put our bodies on the line.

I remember the game against Wakefield at Sixways very well. It was a really tough game and certainly they are one of the more physical sides we have come across. The players are well aware of that but they will not be going into the match half-hearted. Yes, everyone wants to play in the Rotherham match but I don't think that playing without conviction will impress anyone, especially the coaches.

I genuinely think that there are places up for grabs if someone puts in a performance, so it is really up to the players to put their case forward for a start on April 12. The main priority, however, is five points from the match. You cannot look any further than that.

Everyone at the club is going for promotion. It has been the aim since we began training in the summer. That, of course, seems a long time ago now and there have been many hours spent on the training field, watching videos, meetings etc since then. We now have our destiny back in our own hands. Win our final four matches with bonus points and we will finish top.

The job starts on Saturday but when we take to the field in West Yorkshire we know we will have a battle on our hands. Our forwards were superb at Moseley on Sunday as we won 70-14 and I'm sure they'll want to prove a few points to the Yorkshire public at the weekend. The forwards were criticised when we played at Millmoor in November and, as Rotherham will no doubt have scouts at the match, I believe our pack would like to send a clear message back to South Yorkshire.

Not only were the forwards great, David Officer scored another hat-trick of tries and it's great news for Worcester that he's coming back to full match fitness just at the right time. He was desperately disappointed to miss out on the last game against Rotherham. Fingers crossed on Saturday that he comes through the Wakefield clash and is firing on all cylinders for that date with destiny.
