SIXWAYS favourite Tony Yapp has been handed the chance to impress as Worcester Rugby Club aim to tame the Lions on Saturday.

Yapp takes over from the out-of-form Craig Chalmers at fly half as Worcester travel to Rugby Lions for the National One clash (3pm).

Chalmers -- back for Saturday's 46-22 win over Bedford following a hamstring injury -- missed four out of five conversion attempts before making way for Yapp in the second half.

And the 24-year-old has got the nod from head coach John Brain as Worcester look to continue their free-scoring form.

"If you perform week in, week out you will get your chance," said Brain. "Craig was struggling a little after coming back from injury and Tony has been playing well, particularly against Otley.

"Craig is on the bench and is likely to play some part. We've picked the team, however, on performance.

"We've been pleased with what Tony has done. Not so much with the Bracknell game but certainly on the form he showed against Otley."

Rugby lie 10th in the table but look certain to stay clear of relegation trouble despite their recent poor form. They have lost their last five league games but Brain will not be taking them lightly.

"Like most sides in National One, Rugby can cause you a problem on their day so we need to treat them like we would anyone else," he said.

"We beat Bedford 46-22 at the weekend but analysing the game this week it has become clear that if we had taken all of our chances we could have put 60-70 points on the board.

"We set ourselves very high standards at Worcester and we will be looking to improve on the Bedford display at Rugby."

Brain will make a late decision on a prop replacement with Alejandro Moreno again on Six Nations duty with Italy against England tomorrow.
