FORMER Harriers trialist Darren Middleton could sign for neighbours Worcester City this week.
Middleton, who started out at Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers, has been in talks with boss John Barton, the former Kidderminster right-back.
The 22-year-old forward has turned in some impressive pre-season displays for Dr Martens League Premier Division City since leaving Harriers.
Middleton has also played for Stafford Rangers and Conference outfit Forest Green Rovers as well as spending a week at Aggborough last season.
Barton, who has also been talking to ex-Hereford veteran Phil Stant, said: "We are hoping to have some good news in the early part of the week.
"We have spoken to both and we are hopeful they will sign."
Harriers boss Jan Molby had been impressed with Middleton but could not fit him into his plans.
