MALVERN Town have been busy in the transfer market this week making three new signings.

Joining the Langland Stadium club are left side utility player Chris Palmer, aged 27, who this season has been playing for Cinderford in the Doc Martens Western Division, 24-year-old central midfielder John Walton, who has signed from Hellenic League Premier Division side Bishops Cleeve, and 31-year-old midfielder Mark Johnson, who has transferred from Gloucester United, also of the Hellenic League Premier Division.

Town coach Neil Hunt said: "With only 13 league games played and a number of cup competitions still to contest there is still much we can achieve this season, but we have ground to make up and we need to gear ourselves up now and not wait until it is too late."

Town are without a game this weekend, as their proposed trip to Little Drayton Rangers has been postponed, due to their Shropshire based hosts being involved in a County Cup tie. No date for the re-arranged fixture has been yet been set.

Town have, however, arranged a fixture for Tuesday (November 12) when Wellington visit the Langland Stadium in an Express and Star West Midlands League Premier Division fixture (7.45pm).

Town general manager Richard Anson said: "We have games in hand on most teams in the division and not having a game this weekend is the last thing that we needed.

"With just two defeats in our last 13 games, our form is a lot better than our league position suggests, but for some reason we have hardly been allocated any midweek games, when other sides seem to be playing all the time, so we are grateful to Wellington for agreeing to play us."

Tomorrow (Saturday) the Town Reserves visit Littleton in the Second Round of the Evesham Hospital Cup, kick off 2pm.

Last week the Reserves went down 2-0 at Ludlow in an Express and Star West Midlands League Division One (South) fixture.
