MORE than 60 new jobs are to be created by the opening of a new department store in a listed Victorian mill in Kidderminster.

De Bradelei Mill, selling discounted designer clothes, gifts, homeware and perfumes, is set to open at Weavers Wharf on October 6 in Slingfield Mill, which has been renovated at a cost of £1 million.

The family-run business is looking to recruit up to 70 new staff and has teamed up with Kidderminster Jobcentre to recruit its new employees.

Information sessions, which will enable applicants to discuss the opportunities available with Jobcentre staff and collect application forms, start in the Swan Centre today and will also take place on Saturday and July 24 and 26.

Advisers will also be on hand to help with the completion of the forms, which should be returned to the Jobcentre where interviews will be held.

Jobcentre manager Kim Evans said it was a "great opportunity" for people to launch a retail career.

The Derby-based firm, set up 10 years ago, has five stores across the UK and the latest outlet in Kidderminster will be its second largest.
