KIDDERMINSTER Harriers have lost the services of tricky winger Thomas Skovbjerg.

The 26-year-old has returned home to Denmark and his contract will not be renewed.

Aggborough boss Jan Molby said of the shock departure: "I sat down with Thomas recently and we discussed his future with us.

"He faced a difficult decision, but in the end he and his girlfriend felt it would be best to return to Denmark. It was a difficult decision, but possibly the right one for him in the end.

"Thomas wanted to go quietly without any fuss. That's the type of person he is. He did a great job for us, he loved being here and he leaves with our very best wishes."

Skovbjerg joined Harriers on a free transfer from Danish side Esbjerg in August 1999 and became an instant hit with the fans.

After playing a major part in helping Kidderminster clinch the Nationwide Conference title last season, however, he suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury in March last year which put his career on hold for 12 months.

Skovbjerg returned to the first team against Lincoln in March and figured in most of their remaining games this season. He scored five goals in 48 appearances for the club.
