HOT and bothered Redditch Council workers have been warned they will be sent home if they are caught wearing shorts.
Despite the town sweltering in temperatures of above 30 degrees, a council employee said bosses had told them it was against their policy for men to wear shorts.
The worker, who did not want to be named, said the policy applied to everyone across the board - from landscaping to housing workers.
The employee said yesterday they were told if anyone was caught wearing shorts they'd be sent home.
